Wax Melt Clean-Up Tips

Hey, fellow wax lovers! As you might have guessed, I’m not just a seller of wax melts and candles — I’m a true devotee! I can't get enough of using them myself, even though I own my own business. So today, I’m sharing some of my favorite tips on cleaning up wax melts after use!

Killer Tip #1 – Use a Wax Melt Liner

This heat-resistant liner is a game-changer! It holds the wax, making cleanup a breeze. Just remove the liner after use, and you’re done. Most liners are either reusable or disposable. It’s perfect if you like to switch up scents often or if you’re in a hurry.

Tip #2 – Use Cotton Balls

If your wax melter isn’t too full, grab a cotton ball while the melter is still warm. The cotton ball will absorb the excess wax, and then you can wipe it out with a clean paper towel. I like to follow up with a little rubbing alcohol on a tissue to get everything extra clean. Toss the cotton ball in the trash when you're done!

Tip #3 – Pour the Wax Out

For a larger amount of wax, pour it into a disposable container or a lined trash bag. After that, wipe down the melter with disposable tissue and some rubbing alcohol. This method works great if you’ve got a lot of wax to clean up!

Tip #4 – Freeze the Dish

If the wax has already cooled and hardened, pop the removable dish in the freezer for about 10 minutes. Once the wax is solid, it should peel away easily from the melter. Just be sure the dish is removable before using this method.

Tip #5 – Slightly Reheat

After the wax has hardened, you can try turning the melter on for a quick second to soften the wax, then slide it out before it fully melts. Personally, this method isn’t my favorite because every melter is different, and it can get messy if you don’t catch the timing just right. But it can work in a pinch!
